About StreamBuddy

StreamBuddy is an AI co-host for your live stream. It reads your chat, answers out loud, and appears on screen as an animated avatar. It works on Twitch, Kick and Velora, and can be connected to all three at the same time.

StreamBuddy is a desktop app for Windows (64-bit), made by ModMinds.

What it is

StreamBuddy sits in your stream as a second voice. You give it a name, a voice and a personality, and it talks with your chat while you focus on your content.

You control how it behaves:

  • Personality: you write a short prompt describing your co-host. You also set its humour level (low, medium or high) and how forward it is (reactive, balanced or proactive).
  • How often it speaks: you set the share of messages it replies to and the delay before it answers. You can also limit it to messages containing a trigger word.
  • Language: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese or Korean.
  • Other bots: it can ignore other chat bots so they don't get stuck replying to each other.

What it does

Included in Base

  • Talks with chat: it reads chat on every connected platform and replies by voice. It can also post replies as text in chat on Twitch, Kick and Velora, under your account or a separate bot account.
  • Speaks in a voice you choose: Microsoft Neural voices or the voices built into Windows, with speed and volume controls.
  • Reads chat aloud (Chat TTS): it can read viewers' messages word for word, with its own voice, a blocked-word list and a subscribers-only option.
  • Shows up on screen: the avatar is a browser source you add to OBS, Meld or other streaming software. There are three built-in avatars, plus your own uploaded image.
  • Runs chat games: Trivia, Number Guess, Hangman, Would You Rather, Poll and Kraken Hunt, with a leaderboard for the current session and for all time.
  • Runs a chat economy: viewers earn coins for chatting and use them for fishing and slots. You can rename the currency and switch each part on or off.
  • Handles everyday chat jobs: custom commands, timed posts, automatic greetings, shoutouts and giveaways.
  • Shows stream labels: latest follower, follower count, latest subscriber, subscriber count, latest cheer, uptime and a death counter.
  • Works with a Stream Deck: a local control option lets a Stream Deck or Bitfocus Companion button trigger actions.
  • Changes its look: four built-in colour themes, and you can install more.

Added in Pro

  • Voice input: talk to StreamBuddy through your mic and hear it answer. Your speech is transcribed on your own PC.
  • Seven more games: Speed Typer, Emoji Decode, Fast Math, Plinko, Coin Pusher, Boss Battle and Story Chain.
  • Gameshow Mode: the AI picks games back to back and hosts between rounds. There are five host styles, or you can write your own.
  • Soundboard: play your own clips from chat keywords, or automatically on follows, subs, gifted subs, cheers and raids.
  • Stream Ads: your own sponsor reads as text, voice, image or video, on a schedule or redeemed by chat for coins.
  • Ten more avatars.

How it works

StreamBuddy runs on your own PC. You choose where the AI runs:

  • Local (Ollama): the AI model runs on your machine, with no API cost. The app can check your hardware and suggest a model that fits.
  • Cloud (Claude API): the AI runs in the cloud using your own Anthropic API key.

You sign in to Twitch, Kick and Velora through each platform's own login page in your browser.

Licence

Every install needs a serial key, including Base. You get the serial from your account at modminds.site, and the same serial covers both Base and Pro. Upgrading to Pro doesn't need a reinstall.

Who makes it

StreamBuddy is built by ModMinds, founded on May 21, 2026 by Jim (Onfire53) and Zbourne. It began as a custom bot for one friend's stream. ModMinds is a child company of DenCrofty LLC.
