External Control — Stream Deck & Companion

A local control option that lets a button trigger StreamBuddy actions. Every action is a plain web address, so it works with an Elgato Stream Deck's "Website" action, Bitfocus Companion's HTTP module, a macro pad, or your own script.

  1. Turn it on in Settings → External Control. A token is generated automatically the first time.
  2. Open a category (General, Soundboard, Games, Stream Ads, Custom Commands) to see ready-to-copy URLs for every action, already filled in with your token.
  3. Paste a URL into your Stream Deck or Companion button.
  4. On an Elgato Stream Deck, check "GET request in background" on the Website action so no browser window opens.

Scope

Local only (127.0.0.1) — not reachable from another PC or the internet


NOTE: Every request needs the token. If a button stops working after you regenerate the token, re-copy that button's URL from Settings. Regenerate the token if it was ever visible on stream.
