OBS Overlays

StreamBuddy's visuals are Browser Sources. They work in OBS, Meld, or any streaming app with browser source support. StreamBuddy must be running for them to load.

Avatar Overlay

  1. In OBS, click + under Sources → choose Browser Source.
  2. Set the URL from the Dashboard. Same PC as OBS: http://localhost:3847. Separate streaming PC: use the Dual PC (LAN) address shown on the Dashboard. Set width 220, height 300.
  3. Uncheck "Shutdown source when not visible," check "Control audio via OBS", click OK.
  4. Position the source in a corner of your scene or its own layer — the background is transparent.
  5. A "Browser" channel appears in the OBS Audio Mixer — use it to control the bot's voice volume independently from mic and game audio.

Tip: Blank source in OBS = the app isn't open, or port 3847 is blocked by your firewall. On dual-PC setups, allow port 3847 through Windows Firewall on the PC running StreamBuddy.

Avatars & Name Plate

Three built-in avatars are free — Stream Buddy, Vox, and Ghost — plus a custom upload of your own image (PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP). Pro unlocks ten more: Cyber Eye, Pixel Hero, Pyre Monarch, Retrocore, Space Buddy, Real Dragon, Neko VTuber, Arcane Mage, Deep Diver, and Cyber Wolf. You can also install avatar packs (.sbavatar files).

The name plate can sit above or below the avatar, in three sizes, with its own custom text — or be hidden. Set these in Settings → Avatar & Overlay.

Games Overlay

A second Browser Source at /games (e.g. http://localhost:3847/games), sized 420 × 600. It shows trivia questions, poll vote bars, the leaderboard, Plinko, Coin Pusher, Boss Battle HP bars, Story Chain text, Slots results, fishing catches, and the Chat Giveaway counter and winner reveal.

Stream Ads Overlay

A third Browser Source, using the URL on the Stream Ads tab. Needed for image/video ads and for the Shoutout box. Text- and voice-only ads don't need it.

Labels Overlay

A Browser Source at /labels for Stream Labels — around 360px wide works well.
