What's the difference between Base and Pro?
Base is free with an account and includes AI chat across Twitch, Kick, and Velora, Neural and Windows voices, Chat TTS, the animated overlay with 3 built-in avatars plus a custom upload, 6 chat games, the chat economy (points, fishing, slots), custom commands, Stream Labels, Shoutout, Chat Giveaways, themes, and External Control. Pro adds 7 more games plus Gameshow Mode, mic Voice Input, Soundboard, Stream Ads, and 10 more avatars.
Can I use StreamBuddy without OBS?
Yes. Windows SAPI voices play through your system speakers and don't need an overlay. Neural voices and the avatar need a Browser Source to work properly during a stream, in OBS, Meld, or any other streaming app that supports browser sources.
Do I need a serial key to use StreamBuddy?
Yes, every install needs a free account at Modminds.site and a serial key, even for Base. The same serial covers Base and Pro. Each key supports up to 3 activations, and reinstalling on the same PC doesn't use another one.
Does StreamBuddy work offline?
Mostly. The Local (Ollama) AI engine runs offline once the model is downloaded, and Windows SAPI voices need no connection. Neural voices and chat platforms need internet. The license is re-checked online, but StreamBuddy keeps working if the license server can't be reached.
How do i update StreamBuddy?
Opens Settings and use Check For Updates. StreamBuddy tells you when a new version is available and asks before downloading it, nothing is downloaded silently in the background.
